MBISS Ch. Lookout's Thunder Down Under, AOM
Sydney was my introduction to AKC conformation, and what an introduction it was! Sydney was left uncropped as a tribute to my first Great Dane and went to the show ring with no more then the hope of having a little fun. To my surprise, she did more then I could have dreamed! She finished her AKC championship at 17 months old, with 3 majors. Sydney continued on as a special and won many Best of Breed's,two Best in Specialty Shows, several group placements, and 2008 Best of Breed at the National Dog Show in Philadelphia. Sydney became only the second natural ear bitch to win an Award of Merit at the GDCA National Specialty in 2009, and ended her career with an Award of Merit at the 2010 Westminster. She combines power and movement with balance and attitude. When Sydney was in the ring with her handler Bill Urban, people knew she was there. It is a pleasure to live with such a special and loyal dog. Sydney is also the proud mother of AKC Champion and multiple AKC pointed puppies!
Update: Sydney has returned to the ring in 2011 and with limited showing has picked up 12 points towards her Grand Championship. She is competing against champions half her age and younger and is giving it her best shot. I hope the old girl can prove them wrong again!
